In brief :
My opinion on such matters may always evolve, who know ?
This said, so far, according to my experience, to what I’ve come to perceive, encounter, witness and do during ceremonies those last 3 years, curses, spells, charms, hexes… – that I will simply refer to as “spells” in this articles – will behave like light pollution over big cities and like shackles.
I believe the whole planet, the whole humanity is immersed in thick layers of spells, some very old, that keep us trapped in time-loops sort of cages, unable to see reality clearly, and so history keeps repeating itself.
I’m an anarchist. I believe Life is meant to be free. I believe in Nature’s order. She’s been weaving miracles for billions of years. I believe Life is supposed to be based on cooperation rather than domination. I believe that all spells, even the nice ones, are to be broken. I bless and free the spellbounds.
What is a spell ?
Spells are made of various proportions of emotions and intentions. Even if you don’t believe in spells, as long as you have strong emotions and/or strong intentions, that may behave like spells.
Spells may be fully intentional or unintentional, just like they may be benevolent or malevolent.
A strong emotion may behave like a spell. When you believe someone has seriously offended you (objectively or not) and you get very angry at them, when you may even curse at them aloud (ex. : “May he go to hell !”), that can behave like a spell and explode into the person’s life like a bomb (causing accidents, depression, sickness…). Even if you don’t believe in such things, it may still has consequences. Emotions are energy, uncontrolled energies may cause troubles.
Then there is the intentional stuff, which can come in many forms and levels of intentions. Spells can be stones we throw at people’s back or they may be invisible poisoned arrows or they may be enslaved spirits thrown after you.
If you intend your children to be safe from harm, that’s an intention. You may not consciously put protection spells on them, you may still not believe in spells, still your intention may function as a spell.
Then there are the intentionally crafted strictly speaking “spells”, as witchcraft practitioners call them, and indigenous shamans are supposed to be able to do and undo them.
People who are into Core Shamanism may not know about that… Did Michael Harner forget to mention it ? How could that be possible ? Could shamans have “forgotten” to show him some stuff ? How come? Michael Harner, whether intentionally or not, seems to have sanitized shamanism to turn it into a product safe to be sold to most Westerners, and he lost quite a large amount of juicy stuff in the process.
What do spells do ?
The “bad” spells may keep you awake at night, ruin your sleep, drain you, lead you into burn-out and depression, just like smartphones and wifi.
The “good” ones may be like a lovely pink light bubble of joy and glitters around you that will keep you from seeing the world as it is and from being seen as you are, just like anxiolytics. Life is being raped and murdered all around the world and you won’t see any of it. You will consider everything is fine, everything is perfect somehow. You will allow elephants, bees and whales to be destroyed because you’re trapped into you’re own belief that everything is super perfect. People won’t see you as you truly are and you’ll keep on getting into more or less fake shitty relationships all the time and wonder why.
Spells tend to behave like a time loop, trapping you in an artificial space-time, whether painful or confortable, and you won’t be fully “here and now”. You won’t be able to really grow, learn, evolve, root, stand for yourself.
Spells go against nature, against Life
In my opinion, the real nature of Life is Free. I consider all beings and spirits as free by nature.
When you wish to protect lions and elephants, you don’t put them into cages, you leave them free in the wild. It’s when spirits are free that they are the most powerful and the most healthy, as nature meant them to be : able to defend themselves, fight for their survival and thrive.
I consider spells to be like shackles. I consider that all religions and spiritual practices are built on prisons full of shackled spirits, whether monotheists religions or other spiritual practices, such as shamanism. Prayers and mantras could very well be sorts of spells shackling the spirits they intend to « honour ». What do you really know of the spirits or deities you name ? What do you really know of how they feel about those prayers ? What if those prayers wear like cocaine or anaesthetic to them? What do you really know and how do you know it ?
“Question everything”, Bouddha is supposed to have said.
Spellbounds are meant to be free.
How to brake spells ?
Since I see spells as artificial time-loop, I intend to bring the spellbounds « back in Time », back into the real “Here and Now” Space-Time.
So I say to the spellbound : “You’re blessed, you’re Free, you’re back’n Time”.
Sometimes, a spell may be so heavy on my own self and sense of self that I may have to add “I brake the spell”.
Professing those words out loud with faith seems to be enough, yep, though having a crow feather in your left hand and your right thumb or index finger on the blade of a sharp dagger may help. No need to draw blood, just feel the sharpness of the steel blade and have your intention sharpened and hardened by its spirit.
Alternatives to spells :
Spells backfire, so I just refrain from doing spells, though it may be easier said than done. I don’t always succeed at mastering my emotions or at avoiding forcing things on others (including spirits). I do my best. I sometimes have to undo things I did by accident, ask mercy for the offenses I cause and ask to be taught better ways.
Instead of doing spells, I ask, I wish, I make requests.
When I wish someone to be safe, I ask benevolent spirits to offer guidance and protection to that person.
When I wish someone to heal, I ask the spirit of healing to take care of that person.
When I’m really pissed at someone who did me harm, I bless them anyway, and I ask they may see and feel things more clearly.
Conclusion:
Our sense of self is a very healthy thing. It’s supposed to be what will make us run for our life when our house is on fire.
The planet is on fire.
Our pride is a very healthy thing too : it’s what makes us do things we can be proud of instead of awful stuff.
Life is being raped all over the place.
In hard times, in hardships, our sense of self and our pride may be the only thing that we can cling to in order to fight for what’s fair instead of running for cover or giving up.
The war on ego could very well root into layers of old spells, who knows ?
Stand for yourself, stand for Life.
Life has been weaving miracles for billions of years, why should it be ashamed of itself?
You are lent a share of that Life. Please, stand for it, honour it, fight for it.
Be blessed, be free, be Back’n Time.
